I have always been an amateur proofreader of signs, flyers, billboards, menus, cereal boxes, my kids’ book reports and research papers — basically anything in written form. As a receptionist in my first job after college, I would proofread letters that were on my boss’s desk UPSIDE DOWN. While it was a challenge that I enjoyed, it did not endear me to the secretary!

During one of those “what do I want to do next in my life” Internet searches, I came across Caitlin Pyle’s blog Proofread Anywhere. Her course, “Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice”, impressed me as a perfect career to pursue.
